Founder, Owner, Director
Alivia Orvieto
Coach Alivia Orvieto brings a wealth of experience and passion to the court, with an extensive background in both indoor and beach volleyball. A standout during her high school career, Alivia was a two-time All-State selection and earned national recognition as one of Volleyball Magazine’s Fab 30 Beach Volleyball High School Seniors. She went on to compete as an NCAA Division I beach volleyball athlete and team captain at Florida Atlantic University, where she developed a deep understanding of the dedication, discipline, and strategy required to perform at the highest level.
In addition to her athletic achievements, Alivia is a certified strength and conditioning specialist, personal trainer, and nutrition coach. Her professional expertise gives her a unique, holistic approach to player development. She is committed to helping athletes build strength, improve performance, and develop healthy habits both on and off the court.

Matty Ehlers JR
Coach Matty Ehlers Jr. brings over 15 years of volleyball experience as a player and coach to the club. Specializing as a setter and libero, he’s known for his leadership, quick decision-making, and deep understanding of the game. Matty has played and coached at the club, high school, and collegiate levels, and currently competes in professional grass doubles volleyball.
His coaching style emphasizes strong fundamentals, hustle, and smart play. With more than 10 years of coaching experience, he’s helped countless athletes grow their skills, confidence, and love for the game. His teams are known for their discipline, high energy, and team-first mentality. Matty is passionate about pushing athletes to compete at their highest level while creating a positive, focused environment.

Alessia Giannandrea
Coach Alessia Giannandrea brings eight years of competitive volleyball experience and a deep passion for the game to every practice and match. While primarily an indoor player, Alessia’s training in beach volleyball has given her a strong foundation in versatility, adaptability, and technical precision, skills she now passes on to her athletes.
Recently stepping into the world of coaching, Alessia is dedicated to fostering the growth and development of young players. Her coaching philosophy centers on building confidence, encouraging teamwork, and helping each athlete reach their full potential. Driven by her love for the sport, Alessia strives to create a positive and empowering environment where players not only improve their skills but also develop a lifelong passion for volleyball.

Carli Ginther
Coach Carli has been living the beach volleyball life for over a decade, bringing 12 years of playing experience and 9 years of coaching to the court. She competed at the NCAA Division I level at Coastal Carolina University. After being medically retired in the fall of her senior season, she was brought on as a volunteer assistant coach for the program.
Known for her positive energy and passion for the sport, Carli loves helping athletes level up their skills while building confidence and having fun along the way. She is especially skilled at helping young athletes find their spark and learn the game.

Gabi Castro
Coach Gabi Castro brings over a decade of competitive volleyball experience, with a background in both indoor and beach volleyball. She transitioned fully to beach volleyball during high school, drawn to the sport’s emphasis on versatility, independence, and all-around player development. Gabi advanced to the Olympic Development Team tryouts in Hermosa Beach and later attended Cornell University, where she balanced her architecture studies with club volleyball. Over the past three years living abroad in Europe, Gabi has continued competing in both indoor and beach coed volleyball, gaining experience with international playing styles, and even learning to communicate on the court in another language.
Gabi has coached with GAV Beach Volleyball in New Jersey for the past three summers and is passionate about helping athletes build confidence and resilience, creating a positive impact both on and off the court.

Katie Hickey
Coach Katie Hickey brings valuable and impactful experience as a player and a coach. She played 5 years of DI Collegiate Indoor Volleyball with some beach sprinkled in-between. Katie played 3 seasons at Stony Brook University and finished out her career at Temple University. She has a passion for wanting to bring the best out in people and bring together people through community. Through her experiences, She engrained grit, hard work, discipline, and intensity into everything she does. Coach Katie hopes to keep learning and growing and getting to teach younger players along the way!
